The forecast for today was for showers. We got into our wet weather gear again and took off east on Canada 1 heading for Golden. If what we encountered was showers, we wouldn't want to experience rain.

In spite of the rain we made very good time, and were soon passing through the sprawling city of Kamloops. We pushed on, determined not to take a break before we got to Salmon Arm. We were pretty tired when we got there, having covered 119 miles without a stop, and the coffee was warm and welcome.

We pushed on hard and fast through the rain for another 66 miles, and reached Revelstoke by 1 pm. When we got there we stopped for brunch at Denny's Diner, where we were served by a charming young lady, Nina, from Sweden who spent some time chatting with us.

Revelstoke was originally planned to be our stop for the night, and it was just as well we got there early, because we were aiming to get to Golden, another 90 miles further on.

In spite of the continuing heavy rain, we reached Golden by 4 pm and found a motel that was central, if rather pricey. We had covered 275 miles at an average speed of 52 mph, all the time whilst achieving 50 mpg economy.

Because of the constant rain, we took no photos or videos. All the rain and cloud obscured our view and we saw only hints of the beauty we were riding through. It was a pretty miserable and tiring day, really.
